Summer Strawberry Collagen Smoothie
I love summer, long days, warmth and somehow a sense of well being and happiness the season brings.
One of my favourite foods and one that goes hand in hand with summer has to be strawberries. I identify strawberries with the beginning of warmer sunny days and just the smell and taste of a decent ripe strawberry can whisk me back in time with childhood memories of having strawberries for tea as that special treat on Sundays.
Nowadays, I have a small planter in my garden and do my best to grow my own. Although, when it comes to gardening I confess I am not the best green fingered person around, but now and again I produce a small crop of rich red strawberries and as long as I beat the Pukekos and blackbirds to them I have enough for a smoothie. That said, I don't have enough for the many smoothies I enjoy throughout the season, so like most people its a trip to the grocery store to get a decent punnet.
A smoothie is an easy way to take and ensure you get your daily dose of Simply Collagen. Just sprinkle in a teaspoon into the mix and enjoy it in a refreshing cool smoothie. This particular recipe uses a banana and raspberries which gives it a richer flavour. I like to keep it simple, so throw everything into the blender mix and serve.

- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup of fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup of raspberries
- A squeeze of lemon juice
- 1/2 cup milk of your choice (we often use coconut milk)
- 1 heaped teaspoon of Simply Collagen PURE
- Simply blend, pour and enjoy!
